BURLESON and CLEBURNE — Starting-pitchers Isaac Darst and Brayden Bruder combined for 11 shutout innings in their respective wins as the Burleson Elks varsity baseball team won two of three games – shutting out the first-place Cleburne Yellow Jackets and the Mansfield-Summit Jaguars last week.
Junior starting-pitcher Darst threw a complete-game shutout — surrendering one hit and two walks and striking out five batters over seven innings pitched — as the Elks defeated the first-place Yellow Jackets 1-0 in game-one of a two-game series Tuesday at Burleson High School.
