BURLESON — Burleson ISD has relieved two Centennial High School wrestling coaches of all duties after learning about allegations against assistant wrestling coach Jacob Irwin October 23.
The allegations against Irwin involve inappropriate comments and conduct, Burleson ISD stated in an email.
Burleson ISD administrators “immediately” opened an investigation upon learning of the allegations, relieved Irwin and Centennial head wrestling coach Bill Wilson of all duties, reported the matter to the Burleson Police Department and contacted parents, Burleson ISD stated.
Centennial principal Dena Schimming emailed parents about the situation last week, Centennial students’ parents commented on a post about the allegations in the Burleson Residents Talking Facebook page.
“These allegations, if true, are outrageous [and] a breach of the bond between students and their teacher,” Burleson ISD superintendent Bret Jimerson stated.
Wilson hasn’t been told he’s accused of anything, Wilson’s lawyer Tiger Hanner said.
A Centennial student complained about Irwin being creepy and speaking inappropriately, including making comments about having sex with student-wrestler’s parents, the student’s parent stated in a Facebook message.
