Burleson reelects Fletcher and elects Anderson, Scott and Russell
Voters reelected Mayor Chris Fletcher and elected Phil Anderson, Larry Scott and Adam Russell to city council Saturday.
BURLESON – Voters reelected Mayor Chris Fletcher and elected Phil Anderson, Larry Scott and Adam Russell to city council Saturday.
Fletcher received 1,606 (53.7%) votes and defeated City Councilman Ronnie Johnson, who received 1,386 (46.3%) votes, according to the unofficial tally summary. Fletcher said he’s excited for his second term and is looking forward to getting started working with the North Texas Tollway Authority.
Anderson, retired Burleson athletic director, was elected to city council Place 2 over UT Arlington political science student Jake Wernette with 2,041 votes (84.5%) to Wernette’s 373 (15.5%).
Scott, Place 4, and Russell, Place 6, were elected to city council with 2,405 votes and 2,419 votes, respectively, after running unopposed.
Russell replaces Johnson as Place 6 city councilman.
The tally will be canvassed at the May 15 city council meeting at City Hall.
