Checking in on The Burleson Buzz's success
Plus, trustees sworn in at school board meeting, Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce hosts two events and a look at what's happening soon in Burleson
Hi readers, this week is a bit different.
Instead of a typical feature on a Burleson event, business or interesting person, I wrote a piece on how the newsletter is doing in its first seven weeks of life.
I think the newsletter has been a success, and I know it can be better and grow more. Thank you so much for the support.

Week recap:
Dallas Owen and Ryan Richardson were sworn in as Burleson Independent School District School Board Trustees at the School Board meeting Monday at the Burleson ISD administration building.
The Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its monthly “Network@Night” event Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at ClearWater Express Wash in Burleson.
“We had a fantastic time at this month’s Network@Night,” Jessica Pounds, BACC communications and government relations coordinator, stated in an email. “I was so pleased with the turnout and with how the weather behaved. We want to thank ClearWater Express Wash for hosting us this month. It was interesting to learn about the inner workings of their car wash and how they do business.”
“We hope you will join us for [it] at [the] next Network@Night at 4:30 p.m. July 11 at First Financial Bank. These events are open to the public and you will enjoy food, drinks, door prizes, and networking with like-minded people.”
The BACC also hosted its “Emergency Preparedness and Recovery Workshop for Businesses” event Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Russell Farm Art Center.
The BACC was thrilled to see so many business owners and leaders attended the event, Pounds stated.
“With natural disasters becoming more and more common, it’s important to be prepared for anything,” Pounds stated. “We will continue to partner with our local emergency management directors to best serve our businesses, and hope to make this an annual event.”

Checking in on The Burleson Buzz’s success
I’ve been a busy man lately. I have you to thank for that.
Since starting The Burleson Buzz, I’ve spent most of my free time meeting with and interviewing sources, writing and editing articles. Even though I’ve been overwhelmed a lot of the time, it’s been really fun and fulfilling.
Through the support of my readers, I’ve been able to get through the days I’ve felt in over my head.
Sixty-one people have subscribed to The Burleson Buzz since the newsletter launched May 4. That’s more than one person subscribing everyday on average. I’m so thankful for that support.
Thirty-seven of the 61 subscriptions were driven by the newsletters themselves, meaning 37 people clicked the “Subscribe” button within the newsletter.
The newsletters that drove the most subscriptions were the first one previewing the May election and the one about my goal for The Burleson Buzz, which each drove eight subscriptions.
The newsletter has been viewed by unique individuals 2,059 times since it launched for an average of 47.9 views each day. The newsletter was viewed a daily high of 196 times June 1 when I published an article on former council member Jimmy Stanford’s resignation. The newsletter was viewed a daily low three times on May 9 and May 23.
The 13 newsletters I’ve published have a total of 1,628 views from unique individuals for an average of 125.2 views per newsletter. The most-viewed newsletter is the one on Stanford’s resignation, which has been viewed by unique individuals 239 times.
With over 50,000 people living in Burleson, The Burleson Buzz has more people to reach and a lot more work to do.
I really appreciate the support, and I’ll continue to work hard to deliver objective, accurate and relevant news to our city.
I love being able to pop in and get an overview of what’s going on in my community. You’re the goat, Cody
Only way to go is up from here!
