Elks swept by Joshua, eliminated from playoff contention
With the Elks' walk-off loss to Joshua and Centennial's win over Cleburne Tuesday, fourth-place officially became out of reach for the Elks
JOSHUA and BURLESON – The Burleson Elks varsity baseball team was eliminated from playoff contention after being swept by the Joshua Owls last week, pushing them 4.5 games behind the fourth-place crosstown-rival Centennial Spartans with two games left in the regular season.
The Elks were eliminated when they lost 5-4 in extra innings to the Owls in Joshua Tuesday after the Spartans beat Cleburne to take a 3.5-game lead over the Elks with just three regular-season games remaining.
