Kendall Carlock achieved a double-double as the Lady Elks beat the Lady Spartans 45-28 Tuesday at Burleson High School.

The senior forward Carlock scored 12 points and led the Lady Elks with 13 rebounds and two blocks. She added two assists and two steals.

“[Carlock] was unbelievable on the boards,” Lady Elks head coach Brenda Gomez said after the game. “She controlled them on both ends.”

Controlling the rebounds was key for the Lady Elks as that was a big reason the Lady Spartans beat the Lady Elks in their last matchup November 21, Gomez said.

Gomez felt indescribable after the win, she said.

After stressing the importance of the Spartans being consistent last week, Spartans head coach Trovocia Jackson was proud of his team for keeping their feet on the gas after a hot start en route to beating the crosstown-rival Burleson Elks.
