Haynes finishes homer short of cycle as Lady Spartans take game-one
Centennial’s lackluster offensive performance in game-two followed a 10-0 win in game-one Wednesday.

Haynes went 3-for-4 with a triple and double, a stolen base and a game-high three RBIs in game-one.
Junior catcher Madelyn Hickey – 3-for-3 with a game-high three RBIs – lined an RBI single to center to score Ellis – 3-for-4 with an RBI and a game-high two runs scored – and give Centennial a 1-0 lead in the top of the first.

Senior Hannah McCurry – 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a game-high two runs scored – lined an RBI double to left to increase Centennial’s lead to 4-0 in the top of the fifth. McCurry scored on Haynes’ RBI double in the next at-bat, bringing the score to 5-0.
The Lady Spartans scored five runs in the sixth inning on RBI singles from Ellis, Hickey and McCurry and Haynes’ RBI triple, bringing their lead to 10-0 and forcing Azle to score a run in the bottom of the inning to continue the game.
