BURLESON – Hazel Curs and Katie Bailey each scored a goal for the Centennial Lady Spartans varsity soccer team in a 5-2 loss to the Midlothian Lady Panthers Tuesday at Centennial High School.
The sophomore midfielder Curs finished with four shots on goal, scoring one goal. Junior forward Bailey finished with three shots on goal and a goal.
Both of Centennial’s goals came in the second half as they were outscored 3-2 after being outscored 2-0 in the first half.
Centennial head coach Heather McMahan said the team “started a little slow” and made some mistakes it can learn from, but she was proud of the way they fought until the end and scored those two goals in the second half.
