Lady Spartans hit program-record eight home runs in one inning in another dominant week
Freshman Ellis goes 2-0 on mound with a home run in each start, senior Lindemuth hits three home runs
ARLINGTON and BURLESON – The Centennial Lady Spartans varsity softball team hit a single-game program-record eight home runs – all in one inning – in a 20-1 win over the Seguin Cougars Thursday at Seguin High School in another dominant week for the Lady Spartans.
The Lady Spartans also beat the Cleburne Lady Yellow Jackets 10-0 on Ava Ellis’s complete-game shutout Friday at Centennial before finishing the week with a 3-0 loss to the Grandview Lady Zebras in a “practice playoff game” Saturday at Centennial.
In a 16-run top-half of the third inning against Seguin, senior shortstop Bailey Lindemuth and junior center-fielder Madison Haynes each hit two home runs with freshman starting-pitcher Ellis, junior right-fielder Alyssa Mayner, senior third-baseman Hannah McCurry and senior left-fielder Olivia Martin each hitting a bomb of their own.
