O'Grady homers twice as Railroaders start season 2-0
CLEBURNE – Brian O’Grady homered in each game as the Cleburne Railroaders won their first two games of 2024 against the Winnipeg Goldeyes last week at La Moderna Field.
The Railroaders beat Winnipeg 5-3 on Opening Day Thursday in the first of a six-game series in Cleburne, holding the lead after the designated-hitter O’Grady’s two-run home run in the second inning.
After going 2-for-4 with the two-run homer in his first game as a Railroader on Opening Day after playing for the 2023 American Association Champion Kansas City Monarchs last season, O’Grady homered again in a 6-4 game-two victory Friday. Going 1-for-3 on the day, O’Grady’s home run was the second of back-to-back blasts from him and center-fielder Hill Alexander in the second inning.
