CLEBURNE, Texas – The Cleburne Railroaders are 22-19 and in second place in the East Division after winning four of six games against the Lake Country DockHounds last week in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.Â
Hill Alexander went 10-for-23 with four home runs and 11 RBIs as Cleburne outscored Lake Country 49-31 in the series. Alexander is hitting .291 with 11 home runs and 33 RBIs on the season.
Zach Nehrir went 9-for-24 with three home runs and seven RBIs in the series. Nehir is hitting .290 with nine home runs and 43 RBIs on the season.
Jose Sermo and Mark Karaviotis each hit two home runs in the series as well. Sermo leads the team with 15 home runs and 43 RBIs on the season. Karaviotis leads the team with a .312 batting average.
Travis Perry (2-4) went 1-1 in the series as he surrendered eight runs on 17 hits and two walks and struck out six batters through 13 and 2/3 innings pitched over two starts.
Kody Bullard (5-0) is two wins away from his 2022 win total after earning his fifth win as he surrendered two runs on eight hits and three walks and struck out two batters through five innings Thursday.Â
Chandler Casey (1-0) extended his shutout streak to six consecutive innings as he threw four shutout innings, surrendering two hits and two walks and striking out three batters over three relief appearances in the series.
Reliever Joe Corbett (2-3) brought his season strikeout total to 38 as he struck out seven batters over three innings pitched in two relief appearances in the series.Â
Cleburne is three games behind the Milwaukee Milkmen (24-15) in the East Division of the American Association of Professional Baseball.Â
Cleburne will be home for a six-game series against the league-leading Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (24-14) beginning Tuesday at 7:06 p.m. at La Moderna Field. Fargo-Moorhead is coming off back-to-back losses against the Sioux City Explorers (19-21).Â
Cleburne will play everyday for the next 13 days with the homestand lasting nine days. Cleburne will start a three-game series against the Lincoln Saltdogs (19-20) July 3 before heading to Sioux City for a four-game series.
