CLEBURNE, Texas – The Cleburne Railroaders fell to 18-17 as they went 2-4 against the first-place Milwaukee Milkmen last week.
Cleburne now sits in third place, four games behind Milwaukee in the East Division of the American Association of Professional Baseball after entering the series in second place.
Riley Smith (3-4) went 0-1 in two starts in the series. He lost in the series finale as he gave up five earned runs on 10 hits and two walks through six innings Sunday after a no-decision quality start in the series opener Monday.
No Cleburne starting pitcher earned a win in the series.
Joe Corbett (1-3) went 1-1 as he struck out 10 batters through four innings pitched over three relief appearances in the series. He lost the series opener as he surrendered two runs to give Milwaukee a 5-3 lead in the top of the 10th inning, then won game-five by shutting out Milwaukee in the top of the ninth inning before Cleburne scored three runs to walk off in the bottom of the ninth Saturday.
Mark Karaviotis led the team with 11 hits in 21 at-bats in the series. Karaviotis scored the winning run in game-five when John Figueroa walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning Saturday.
Jose Sermo hit two home runs and went 7-for-21 in the series.
Cleburne heads to Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, for a six-game series against  the Lake Country DockHounds beginning Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. at WBC Park. Lake Country is in last place in the East Division at 14-19.
