CLEBURNE, Texas – The Cleburne Railroaders are two games behind the Milwaukee Milkmen for first place after winning four of six games against the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks (26-18) last week at La Moderna Field.Â
Cleburne’s leader in batting average, Hill Alexander, drove in a team-high eight RBIs last week as he went 9-for-22 at the plate with two home runs. Alexander is batting .306 with 13 home runs and 41 RBIs in 2023.
Each Cleburne starting pitcher pitched at least five innings each game and four pitched quality starts.
Travis Perry (3-4) shutout Fargo-Moorhead on three hits and two walks through seven innings pitched as Cleburne beat Fargo-Moorhead 1-0 on Saturday. Perry leads Cleburne with 48 strikeouts over 54 innings pitched in 2023.Â
Kevin Hilton (3-2) allowed three earned runs on seven hits and a walk and struck out five batters through seven innings pitched as Cleburne defeated Fargo-Moorhead 13-7 Thursday.
Cleburne’s wins leader, Kody Bullard (5-0) allowed two earned runs on three hits and three walks and struck out two batters through six innings as Cleburne beat Fargo-Moorhead 7-6 Wednesday.
Kasey Kalich (2-1) went 1-1 in as he allowed four earned runs on 13 hits and three walks and struck out 12 batters through 11 2/3 innings over two starts in the series. Kalich has a 3.85 ERA and 41 strikeouts through 37 1/3 innings pitched in 2023.
Jose Sermo hit his league-leading 16th home run as Cleburne defeated Fargo-Moorhead 10-5 Sunday.
Brian Klein led the team this week with 10 hits as he went 10-for-24 at the plate and scored five runs.
Cleburne carries its two-game win-streak into a three-game series against the Lincoln Saltdogs (23-22) beginning at 7:06 p.m. Monday at La Moderna Field. Lincoln carries a four-game win-streak of their own into the series.
