BURLESON — Lily Sheppard scored a game-high 17 points as the No. 10 Mansfield-Summit Lady Jaguars beat the Centennial Lady Spartans 63-34 Friday at Centennial High School.
Summit (11-0 in District 8-5A, 25-5 overall) led the whole game and had its best quarter in the fourth when it outscored Centennial (4-7, 13-17) 20-9 to secure its seventh straight victory and hand Centennial its third straight loss.
In addition to her game-high 17 points, the junior shooting guard Sheppard led the game with three assists and had three steals.
Sheppard made back-to-back buckets to increase Summit’s lead to 20-14 in the second quarter after Centennial pulled within two.
Centennial sophomore guard Layla Levels tied Sheppard’s game-high 17 points and made a game-high three three-pointers, including two to get Centennial on the board in the first quarter.
