Lady Spartans beat Lady Elks 49-38
·The Centennial Lady Spartans beat the Burleson Lady Elks 49-38 Tuesday in the teams' first district game of the season
Centennial (0-7) is still in search of its first win of the 2023-24 season after losing 54-50 to the San Angelo Central Bobcats (2-0) Friday, 56-53 to the Boswell Pioneers (2-4) and 60-39 to the Ranchview Wolves (1-6) Monday and 63-35 to the Braswell Bengals (7-0) and 67-32 to the Martin Warriors (3-4) Tuesday.
While no teams have played district games yet, Centennial is in ninth place in district.
Centennial is scheduled to play the Trinity Leadership Tigers (2-3) Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Centennial High School before playing against the Johnson Jaguars (1-5) Thursday at 5 p.m. and two other opponents Friday and Saturday in the South San Antonio Tournament.
