🏀Elks take third place in Keene ISD Tournament; Evans makes All-Tournament team
The Burleson Elks varsity basketball team senior forward B.J. Evans earned All-Tournament honors as Burleson (7-4) took third place in the Keene ISD Tournament last week at Keene High School.
Burleson (7-3 overall) went 4-2 in the tournament and started with a 52-6 victory over the Trimble Tech Bulldogs (0-8) Thursday to improve to 4-0 to start the season for the first time under head coach Anthony Dees.
🏀Spartans win four of five at Southwest ISD Invitational
The Centennial Spartans varsity basketball team (7-1 overall) went 4-1 in the Southwest ISD Invitational Tournament last week in San Antonio.
⚽Coaches association ranks Lady Spartans second in 5A
The Texas Association of Soccer Coaches (TASCO) ranked the Centennial Lady Spartans varsity soccer team as the number-two team in Division-5A in its pre-season rankings announced Sunday.
Centennial went 18-3 last Spring—including a Bi-District championship win over the Birdville Lady Hawks—and lost in the Area-Championship round of playoffs to the Wichita-Rider Lady Raiders.
Centennial begins the 2025 season in January.
🏀Lady Spartans beat Garland, fall to Midlothian
The Centennial Lady Spartans varsity basketball team (6-5) fell 33-28 to the Midlothian Lady Panthers (8-2) Tuesday at Centennial High School after beating the Garland Lady Owls (4-6) 48-40 Friday at Centennial.
Centennial will look to get back into the win column when it faces the Ennis Lady Lions (5-9) Monday at 6:30 p.m. in Ennis.
🏀Lady Elks lose four of five at Heritage Tournament
The Burleson Lady Elks varsity basketball team (4-7) went 1-4 in the Midlothian-Heritage tournament last week at Heritage High School in Midlothian.
Burleson lost its first four games of the tournament—losing 42-14 to the Heritage Lady Jaguars (7-4) and 49-26 to the Brewer Lady Bears (9-6) Thursday, 52-35 to the Kennedale Lady Wildcats (3-10) and 46-25 to the Lamar Lady Vikings (7-4) Friday—before closing the tournament out with a 43-8 win over The Irving-Macarthur Lady Cardinals (2-13) Saturday.
Burleson will look to fare better in another tournament Thursday through Saturday.
