BURLESON and ARLINGTON – The Centennial Spartans varsity baseball team swept the Seguin Cougars last week behind Parker Womack’s four-inning shutout in game-one and the Spartans 17 walks in game-two last week.
The senior starting-pitcher Womack earned the win striking out six batters and surrendering two hits and no walks over four innings pitched as the Spartans beat the Cougars 10-0 in game-one Tuesday at Centennial. He went 2-for-2 at the plate with a double, a walk and two RBIs.
Senior center-fielder/relief-pitcher Kenny Fritz relieved Womack in the top of the fifth inning and pitched the last two innings of the game, striking out five without allowing a single baserunner. He went 1-for-3 at the plate with a home run, a game-high three RBIs and a game-high two runs scored in Tuesday’s win.
