Dear Readers,
Thank you for supporting my work. With Monday being Labor Day, it seems like a good time to reflect on the work I’ve put in for The Burleson Buzz.
I’ve written 34 newsletters and edited 16 for The Burleson Buzz since I started this newsletter May 4. I’ve done so without any guarantee that I’d be rewarded for my efforts.
I’m pleased to say this has turned out to be one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done.
While I only started producing income from The Burleson Buzz recently, I’ve felt appreciated for this since my first interview.
Taking the time to find news, talk to sources, and write and edit articles all outside of my full-time job hasn’t been easy, but the overwhelming support (244 subscribers!) has made all the stress worth it.
As the revenue from the newsletter has increased, I’ve been able to more-clearly see a path to doing this full-time, and that really excites me.
That said, this Labor Day I’d like to encourage everyone to pursue work that excites them.
I know how much it sucks to spend 40+ hours a week doing something you don’t care about, and I know how hard it is to find a way to get paid for something you do care about.
My experience with this newsletter has made me realize it is possible to feel rewarded for the time you put into something you care about though.
And I have all of you to thank for that.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Cody
