Weekly Newsletter: BTX-Mas a success (in my humble opinion)
my opinion on the BTX-Mas festivities, the latest on Elks, Lady Elks and Lady Spartans basketball and a look at what’s coming up in Burleson.
Hello, readers,
Welcome to the first Monday newsletter. I hope you’ll share my sentiment that a newsletter with local news updates from the past week and a list of upcoming local events will be more valuable delivered on Mondays rather than Fridays.
If you don’t share that sentiment, let me know. Feel free to comment on this post or email me at theburlesonbuzz@gmail.com.
In this newsletter, you’ll find my opinion on the BTX-Mas festivities, the latest on Elks, Lady Elks and Lady Spartans basketball and a look at what’s coming up in Burleson.
Onto the news.

BTX-Mas a success (in my humble opinion)
While the fireworks show was replaced by what I assume is a safer drone show, Burleson’s annual Christmas gathering Saturday was as magical as ever.
I don’t think I’ve ever been part of a group of that many people outside of a professional sporting event. It still somehow felt like a small-town get-together though.
Elks take second place in Venus Invitational
Burleson beat the Polytechnic Parrots, the Maypearl Panthers and Coronado Mustangs before losing to the Palmer Bulldogs in the Venus Invitational tournament final.
Lady Elks go 3-2 in hosted Invitational, Lady Spartans go 2-2 in Granbury
The Burleson Lady Elks varsity basketball team went 3-2 in the Lady Elk Invitational and the Centennial Lady Spartans went 2-2 in the Granbury Invitational last week.
Senior guard Courtlyn Middlebrook and senior forward Kendall Carlock were selected to the Lady Elk Invitational all-tournament team.
